You may not be familiar with the name REDVANLY, but the New York City-based brand has taken country clubs by storm with an innovative concept: pull-on golf pants. If there’s one thing people do know about golf, it’s that there isn’t a ton of wiggle room when it comes to subverting style norms.
So in an effort to make the traditional golf trouser more comfortable, REDVANLY made a pant that follows the dress code yet performs like a pair of performance joggers. The four-pocket, Pull-On Trouser features belt loops and a working fly, yet the waistband is entirely elastic and the button is only there for show. Now the brand is taking it one step further. Enter the Ranstead Jeans.

The concept is similar to the brand’s signature trousers in function. It’s a garment that looks like a conventional pair of denim, but functions more like sweatpants or joggers. In order to accomplish this, the brand developed a fabric it calls Activedenim. With a 72% cotton, 23% polyester and 5% spandex blend, it has that quintessential appearance of washed denim with a lot more mobility and breathability. And the pants come in four different colors ranging from gray, to classic indigo and light blue to complement a range of different outfits and seasons. The functional front and back pockets, belt loops and top button turn them from athletic wear into a casual garment that could be worn on a night out.
Whether the Rainstead Jeans will be accepted in a country club environment remains to be seen, but no debate ever started without a question. The jeans will be available for purchase for $175 USD on REDVANLY’s website as well as its New York City flagship store in the West Village.
