Ryder Connects With Daniella Wizard For Low-Slung Groover “I Been”

Ascendant producer Ryder continues his solid gold run with a new single, “I Been”, which features vocals from Daniella Wizard.

The track is lifted from a forthcoming EP, which is due later in the year, and follows on from recent joint “WTF” with Luton star BXKS. “I Been” is yet more evidence of the producer’s gilded touch and proof that his breakout #skeptacore was far from a flash in the pan. Instead, his work since—which also includes an EP Ryder created with Skepta in just 48 hours—has secured his reputation as a visionary producer whose varied sound draws as much from Kaytranada as it does Wiley.

On “I Been”, we get more of a taste of Kaytra’s influence, dialling into a low-slug groove that pairs beautifully with the vocals of West London-based singer-songwriter and producer Daniella Wizard.

Speaking on the track’s creation, Ryder explains that it’s been a little while in the making: “I wrote ‘I Been’ when I was 17 in a hotel in Albania—a track that was firmly ahead of its time when I created it. The track’s groove was inspired by Kaytranada and Channel Tres.”
