Pas Normal Studios and Salomon have launched their SS26 T.K.O. collaboration, a limited-edition collection built around the GRVL Concept: a performance shoe engineered for hybrid terrain. Available now the collection also includes the RACE SKIN 2 running vest, forming a unified system that bridges cycling and running through a shared technical and aesthetic framework.
The GRVL Concept shoe is where the collaboration’s most deliberate engineering decisions live. A PEBA-based supercritical foam midsole delivers soft landings and maximum energy return, while dual full-length carbon blades create responsiveness underfoot. The outsole draws directly from cycling’s material logic: shallow 1.5mm lugs, informed by bike tyre geometry, provide grip and stability on loose surfaces while maintaining speed on asphalt. A 43mm front and 37mm rear stack height paired with a 6mm drop establishes a high-performance platform suited for the kind of terrain that changes beneath you mid-effort. At 262 grams, the shoe achieves that without sacrificing protection, with an integrated knitted gaiter and Salomon’s quickLACE system handling fit precision and debris control.
The RACE SKIN 2 vest completes the system with the same principles applied to carry. A body-hugging fit maintains stability at speed, dual front flasks keep hydration immediately accessible, and a rear compartment accommodates a hydration bladder for longer efforts where the terrain dictates adaptability over convenience.
Visually, the collection reads as distinctly Pas Normal Studios. The palette references the physical environment the GRVL Concept was built for: dusty, sandy hybrid surfaces as a base, contrasted by the yellow of sun and the blue of sky. Branding is handled through silver-grey reflective heat transfer, a choice that keeps the visual identity functional and restrained without disappearing. “In this spirit, we’ve partnered with Salomon to develop a gravel running shoe and a camel running vest, both reflecting the same value set as our mainline products,” said Karl-Oskar Olsen, creative director and co-founder of Pas Normal Studios.
The collaboration speaks to a broader shift in how performance athletes define their practice. Pas Normal Studios built its reputation on technically uncompromising cycling apparel with a design sensibility more at home in contemporary fashion than in a peloton. Salomon has spent decades shaping how mountain and trail athletes move. The space where those two brands meet — cross-disciplined, aesthetically considered, technically serious — is exactly where the culture around outdoor sports has been heading. The GRVL Concept doesn’t sit between categories so much as it makes the category question irrelevant.
