Dystopian mecha vs. monster action anime, Snowball Earth, is officially renewed for season 2. Following the finale of season 1, TOHO Animation as well as the anime’s official website now confirms that the anime is currently in production.
Adapting Yuhiro Tsujitsugu’s popular mecha-sci-fi manga, the story follows a severely introverted boy named Tetsuro, who spent a decade locked in solitary combat alongside his giant robot, Yukio, to shield the planet from colossal alien invaders. Upon returning to Earth, however, he discovers that a brutal, hyper-freezing phenomenon has transformed the globe into a giant snowball.
