TAG Heuer Reunites With Gulf for a Special Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph

TAG Heuer debuts a 44mm titanium Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph in collaboration with Gulf.

The racing dial features iconic blue and orange stripes alongside a carbon bezel.

Limited to 1,000 pieces, it retails for $6,300 USD.

TAG Heuer has unveiled the Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf, the fourth collaboration between the Swiss watchmaker and Gulf Oil, continuing a partnership deeply rooted in motorsport culture. This high-intensity timepiece pays homage to a rich legacy anchored in endurance racing, where Gulf’s signature blue and orange livery became inseparable from the historic circuits of Le Mans and the cinematic legacy of Steve McQueen. Designed to translate the visual force and mechanical demands of motorsport to the wrist, the new chronograph embodies both brands’ shared commitment to absolute clarity and precision under extreme pressure.

The watch features a robust 44mm case constructed from sandblasted Grade 2 titanium, providing a lightweight yet highly durable frame for everyday wear and track performance. Its striking black opalin dial is bisected by the iconic Gulf blue and orange vertical stripes, which are framed by a blue lacquered track and a forged carbon fixed tachymeter bezel bearing the Gulf marking. Powered by the Caliber 16 automatic movement, the instrument-driven layout includes three specialized subdials: a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and a permanent second indicator at 9 o’clock. Rounding out its athletic build are skeletonized hour and minute hands, black DLC-finished pushers, a 200-meter water resistance rating, and a matching three-row Grade 2 titanium bracelet.

Adding to its collectible appeal, the timepiece features a titanium screw-down caseback specially engraved with the Gulf logo, cementing its motorsport identity. Limited to 1,000 pieces, the Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf will be available through TAG Heuer at a retail price of $6,300 USD
