Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have unveiled the official trailer for their upcoming psychological horror thriller Other Mommy.The spine-chilling teaser provides a first look at Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain taking on a dual role as both a mother and her sinister supernatural doppelgänger.
Helmed by director Rob Savage (Host, The Boogeyman) from a screenplay by Succession writer Nathan Elston, the film adapts Josh Malerman’s acclaimed novel Incidents Around the House. Produced by horror titan James Wan under the Blumhouse Atomic Monster banner, the narrative centers on eight-year-old Bela (Arabella Olivia Clark), who is targeted by a terrifying entity emerging from her bedroom closet that unnervingly mirrors her mother’s physical form.
Chastain stars alongside Jay Duplass as Bela’s father, with a supporting cast that includes Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and Karen Allen. Blending domestic vulnerability with relentless supernatural dread, the footage highlights Chastain’s high-profile return to the horror genre following her performances in Mama and It Chapter Two.
Other Mommy officially arrives in theaters on October 9, 2026, via Universal Pictures.
