HBO Unveils Official ‘Lanterns’ Trailer Revealing Sinestro and Alien Murder Mystery

HBO and DC Studios unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming mystery series ‘Lanterns’ during San Diego Comic-Con

The eight-episode drama stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as space cops investigating an alien-linked murder in rural Nebraska

The series features a first look at Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro alongside a cameo appearance by Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner

HBO and DC Studios have officially debuted a new trailer for the upcoming drama series Lanterns at San Diego Comic-Con. The eight-episode sci-fi mystery stars Kyle Chandler as veteran Green Lantern Hal Jordan alongside Aaron Pierre as his newly recruited protege, John Stewart.

Created by Tom King, Damon Lindelof, and showrunner Chris Mundy, the series centers on intergalactic peacekeepers Jordan and Stewart as they are called to rural Nebraska to investigate a mysterious murder connected to shape-shifting alien Manhunters. The newly released trailer provides a first look at Ulrich Thomsen as Jordan’s former mentor turned adversary, Sinestro, as well as a cameo appearance from Nathan Fillion reprising his role as Guy Gardner.

Executive produced alongside DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, the series cast includes Kelly Macdonald, Laura Linney, Paula Patton, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Nicole Ari Parker, Jason Ritter, Sherman Augustus, and Paul Ben-Victor.

Lanterns premieres globally on HBO on August 16.
