Kentucky has officially revealed two exclusive Nike Kobe Player Exclusives for Wildcats athletes in honor of Mamba Day
The basketball program received a white and blue Nike Kobe 8 EM Protro while the football team debuted a Nike Kobe 6 Protro cleat
Both pairs are designed strictly for student-athletes and will not be available to the public
Nike and the University of Kentucky have officially revealed two new Kobe Player Exclusives to mark Mamba Day. The dual reveal equips Wildcats athletes across both basketball and football programs with custom footwear honoring Kobe Bryant.
Unveiled on August 24 in reference to Bryant’s No. 8 and No. 24 jersey numbers, the basketball program received a Nike Kobe 8 EM Protro. Dressed primarily in clean white with blue accents throughout, the pair shares its colorway scheme with the program’s player-issued iteration from late 2023.
The football program received a gridiron-adapted setup featuring the Nike Kobe 6 Protro modified into a cleat. The design incorporates a blue snakeskin-style TPU upper with black detailing, translating one of Bryant’s signature hardwood models into field performance gear.
As exclusive player editions for University of Kentucky athletes, neither Nike Kobe PE is expected to drop at retail.
