Building on its limited-edition releases from 2025’s LVMH Watch Week, Louis Vuitton now introduces five new Tambour Spin Time references to its permanent collection. Conceived as the House’s mechanical expression of the “Art of Travel,” the signature complication dates back to 2007, when La Fabrique du Temps founders Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini drew inspiration from airport and railway station departure boards to create a three-dimensional jumping-hour display. Every element of the new lineup – from the cases to the movements – is fully developed and produced in-house at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Geneva, bearing the “LFT” seal engraved like a passport stamp on the calibres.
The permanent collection opens with two distinct 39.5 mm iterations that showcase versatile proportions and 100 meters of water resistance. The Tambour Spin Time Green features a white gold case framing a deep, earthy green sunray and sandblasted dial, paired with a matching quilted green rubber strap that incorporates the House’s signature V-motif. Marking a first for the Tambour line, the Tambour Spin Time Australia’s Opal arrives in an 18-carat rose gold case set with 68 baguette-cut blue sapphires across the bezel and lugs. Its fiery blue Australian opal dial center is framed by 12 baguette-cut diamond indexes, with opal inserts set between each Spin Time cube. Both models are powered by the self-winding calibre LFT ST13.01, visible through a sapphire caseback – a first for the 39.5 mm silhouette — which presents micro-sandblasted bridges, colourless jewels, and a 750 rose gold oscillating weight delivering a 45-hour power reserve.
Expanding into 42.5 mm white gold builds, two Spin Time Air references offer elevated travel complications with suspended displays. The Tambour Spin Time Air Blue renders the brand’s signature blue across a sandblasted dial, where 12 floating cubes spell out “Louis Vuitton” and feature polished studs reminiscent of vintage trunk rivets. For world travelers, the Tambour Spin Time Air Antipode Blue integrates a 24-time-zone worldtime complication into the in-house calibre LFT ST12.01. By placing antipodal cities – locations exactly 12 hours apart, such as Los Angeles and Dubai – on opposite faces of the same cube, the watch displays a.m./p.m. day-night indications as the cubes rotate, with local time indicated by a miniature-painted yellow pointer referencing Louis Vuitton leather goods stitching.
Topping the permanent range is the high-horology Tambour Spin Time Air Flying Tourbillon Salmon, housed in a 42.5 mm 950 platinum case. Created in collaboration with La Fabrique des Cadrans, its soft salmon dial pairs with a taupe calfskin strap to deliver a classical aesthetic. At the center of the display sits the in-house calibre LFT ST05.01, a complex 283-component movement requiring 50 hours of hand assembly that combines the floating cube hour display with a central flying tourbillon styled in the shape of a Monogram flower. Completed with openwork casebacks and fine-crafted details across all five references, the collection anchors the Spin Time as a lasting pillar of Louis Vuitton watchmaking.
