The victory caps a standout season for the world number two, who previously captured his first major title at the 2026 French Open against Flavio Cobolli. Arriving in New York as the top seed following Jannik Sinner’s withdrawal due to a knee injury, Zverev navigated a challenging draw featuring consecutive five-set matches in the opening two rounds before finding his rhythm in the later stages of the tournament.
