Marine Serre and Chaisor reinterpret a heritage French folding chair with the house’s signature Moon motif.
Three editions pair gold-toned steel frames with Tan, Inverse Tan and Denim upholstery.
Handmade in France, the limited chairs retail from $660 USD.
Marine Serre has stepped into furniture with a limited-edition collaboration with French folding-chair specialist Chaisor, translating the fashion house’s signature All-Over Moon motif onto one of the manufacturer’s heritage silhouettes. Founded in 1962, Chaisor is known for its distinctly ceremonial folding chairs, and the collaboration preserves that recognizable structure while recasting it through Marine Serre’s visual language.
Designed by Leo Jouk, the chair combines a curved backrest inspired by Napoleon III furniture with Chaisor’s signature Saint Andrew’s cross leg construction, engineered for added stability and durability. A gold epoxy-finished steel frame supports padded seating and a 35 mm high-resilience foam backrest, both wrapped in Moon-patterned textiles. Three serial-numbered editions – Tan, Inverse Tan and Denim, corresponding to Moon Black on Tan, Moon Tan on Black and Moon Laser Denim Blue – shift the piece between warm neutral contrasts and a washed blue treatment, turning an otherwise practical folding object into something more graphic and collectible.
The familiar repeating crescent motif remains the defining element, but here it is applied to an object rooted in French furniture tradition, reinforcing both brands’ shared emphasis on craftsmanship, longevity and cultural continuity. Each chair is handmade in France, retaining Chaisor’s foldable functionality while bringing a more fashion-led surface treatment to the historic form; the Denim edition uses cotton upholstery, while the Tan variants use Moon-printed technical fabric. The Marine Serre x Chaisor chairs are available through Marine Serre’s online store, priced at $660 USD.
