The key motif for Ovrkast.’s While The Iron Is Hot album is a hammer – making Carhartt WIP the perfect collaborator for the project’s release. To celebrate the release of the album, the Oakland-born-and-bred talent tapped the Carhartt offshoot to assist on a limited-edition apparel capsule.
Kast hosted the album’s listening party at the new Carhartt WIP outpost in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Free and open to the public, the event consisted of a screenprinting activation, with attendees getting hot-off-the-press Ovrkast. x Carhartt WIP graphic tees, a panel between Kast’s team and the Carhartt WIP team, and, of course, an early album listen.
As for the graphic itself, Kast whipped up a clean, all-white T-shirt, stamped with the album’s title and hammer motif. “Ready to Strike?” it reads up top, with a phone number to call listed down below.
“I just wanted some sort of infomercial, on-the-street kind of poster feel,” Ovrkast. shared with Hypebeast, looking to craft something that paid proper homage to the project, yet still felt “unique and vintage-looking.”
