UNIQLO’s PUFFERTECH Proves There’s a Science Behind Staying Warm

Explore how the new outerwear line combats the weather with purposeful design.

Presented by Uniqlo

This season, UNIQLO introduces the PUFFERTECH collection. Leveling up its outerwear library, which has come to be popular among city-goers, the new arrival combines contemporary style, comfort and practical design while packaging it up into four staple silhouettes for the winter ahead.

On the surface, PUFFERTECH may appear to deliver the same qualities as other puffer jackets on the market, but delve a little deeper and there’s more than initially meets the eye. Using advanced technology, the brand incorporates a lining of ultra-fine fibers that are woven in a way that is unlike feathers or other traditional forms of down. This structure generates small pockets to insulate by air and create game-changing warmth.

Beyond heat retention, the hollowed-out fibers also bring a lightweight feel to everyday wear, enabling certain pieces, such as the vests and jackets, to be folded away. When paired with the water-repellant outer made from its NANODESIGN™ technology, the innovative lining continues to offer wearers the same comfort in wetter conditions – a factor that has become increasingly unpredictable across modern cities.

In a closer look at the collection’s supreme durability, UNIQLO reveals a new campaign set atop a weather-beaten high-rise building. Against rain and wind, the visuals show how wearers of all ages can maintain a sleek look using PUFFERTECH as a body of armor. Not only a form of protection, the signature range of colorways, like the bright red coat and purple-hued vest, adds a pop of color to the backdrop of gray skies.
