It’s been several years since Jun Takahashi and the rest of the UNDERCOVER team first teamed up with fast-fashion label GU for an expansive collection of co-designed apparel. Since then, the two have continued to collaborate regularly, with the duo announcing “UG” as a full collaborative line between the two of them earlier this year.
The duo is back for Fall/Winter 2025, producing another diverse range of looks. Various outerwear options include a coverall jacket that is complemented by a pair of twisted pants. Knitwear involves a shaggy crewneck and shaggy cardigan, the latter of which features UNDERCOVER’s “Silent Noise” motif at the backside. One more highlight from the range is another classic film collaboration, this time with E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for two tees.
“We were particular about the balance of slight stimulation, and introducing an expression of noise, which we don’t do at UNDERCOVER and is unique to our efforts with GU, such as deliberately exposing the seam allowance in the sweatshirt parka, and using a mix of different materials for the MA-1 bomber jacket,” shares Takahashi. “I want female customers to enjoy the nuances between men’s and women’s clothing, so personally, I want the collection to mix well with feminine items such as skirts and camisoles.”
