adidas Originals has teamed up with audio label and showroom Silence Please to take adidas’ SoHo flagship speaker system to staggering heights. The result is a bold, custom-built 10-foot speaker system permanently installed at 1135 Spring Street. Furthermore, the feat of acoustic engineering has been joined with a special release of limited-edition jackets inspired by the speaker horn.

The massive in-store setup boasts a massive horn, emblazoned with the adidas emblem, measuring almost 5 feet across at the mouth and over 2.5 feet deep. Tucked inside this large acoustic funnel is a 12” coaxial driver that perfectly aligns the midrange and high frequencies on the same acoustic axis. Backing that up is a sealed bass section loaded with dual 21” drivers for booming resonance. With the horn, cabinet, and mounting structure together, the entire piece stands at 10 feet tall.

To celebrate this monumental project, the Silence Please and adidas Originals dropped an ultra-rare, limited run of 100 Firebird track jackets with a meticulously stitched back graphic. Arena Embroidery digitized the speaker’s original 3D horn CAD file into a complex custom stitch pattern based on the intricate curves, structural ribs, and wireframe lines, which demands hours of close work for every single jacket.
