Gentle Monster Flips the Prada Logo for Debut Collaboration

Summary

  • Gentle Monster and Prada’s eyewear collaboration features three designs with sideways logos and titanium frames.
  • The limited collection launches in select Asian markets, starting July 6 in Japan.

Elevated Korean eyewear label Gentle Monster is beefing up its luxury collaboration roster with an all-new collection designed in partnership with Prada. Teased at the tail end of Paris Fashion Week, the collaboration builds off the brand’s growing world, which has included partnerships with luxury peer Maison Margiela, as well as a forthcoming Google collab.

The Prada x Gentle Monster collaborative collection delivers three unique designs that merge precision with fluidity, highlighted by sharp lens contours, architectural fronts, and sleek titanium temples. In the various wire-frame shapes, the Prada logo is flipped onto its side for a clever, off-kilter detail that differentiates the products from Prada’s mainline shades. Accompanying the drop is a cinematic campaign directed by James J. Robinson and starring actor and Prada ambassador Kentaro Sakaguchi, which explores a narrative of five fictional forces: earth, water, fire, air, and love.

In addition to its designer tie-ups, the brand’s 2025 investment from Google, which clocks in at roughly $100 million USD, is generating high anticipation for a tech-infused release. As an innovative newcomer to the luxury eyewear space, collaborations like the Prada collection and the future Google collaboration make Gentle Monster’s position in the market ripe for further design experimentation and cross-brand fusion.

The Prada x Gentle Monster collection is coming soon to select Asian markets, including Japan, South Korea, and Mainland China, for a limited time. The launch kicks off in Japan starting July 6 in-store and July 7 online.
