CDG and Alpha Industries Revisit Their MA-1 Partnership With a New Navy Bias Cut

A returning Alpha Industries collaboration reworks the MA-1’s bias design and lands it in a fresh navy

The release traces back to COMME des GARÇONS’ habit of splicing and rebuilding familiar garments

An oversized docking tee and two acrylic vests extend that construction-first thinking across the lineup

CDG, the line run under COMME des GARÇONS, is reviving its Alpha Industries MA-1 in a new navy as the centerpiece of a fresh, rolling release. The drop leans on the label’s reconstruction instincts, arriving from August 5 alongside a docking-technique tee and a pair of acrylic vests.

The MA-1 is where the collaboration’s history shows. Alpha Industries is the house that turned the MA-1 flight jacket into a wardrobe staple in the first place, and its work with COMME des GARÇONS has become a recurring fixture across seasons. For this outing, that popular bias treatment stays intact and gets reissued in navy, keeping the diagonal cut that has defined the pairing.

The oversized T-shirt carries the deeper CDG lore. It draws on the brand’s docking technique, the reconstruction method COMME des GARÇONS has long used to splice separate garment sections into one rebuilt piece, a design language closely tied to Rei Kawakubo’s approach. Dropped onto an everyday tee, it turns a signature runway idea into something wearable.

The two acrylic vests, a knit vest and a cardigan vest, close the story on a quieter note. Built to run unisex and to hold up across seasons, they carry the same reconstruction-minded, function-forward thinking that has long shaped the CDG catalog into everyday layering pieces.

The new CDG pieces begin are available now via COMME des GARÇONS.
