Skepta Wore Stone Island on Stage All Weekend

Skepta fronting Stone Island’s latest “Community as a Form of Research” campaign ultimately comes as no surprise, as  Skepta and Stone Island have been overly locked in this year. Big Smoke has repped the brand pretty consistently throughout his summer run of shows, donning a range of the label’s jacketing silhouettes for his guest appearances and solo shows alike.

This past weekend — one of the U.K.’s biggest music weekends of the year — was no exception, with the rapper performing at England’s Reading & Leeds 2027, as well as Ireland’s Electric Picnic, and wearing a different Stone Island piece for each set.

Friday, Skepta took the stage at Reading, where he wore the centerfold piece of the weekend. Lifted from the label’s Spring/Summer 2001 collection, Smoke flexed a highly coveted archival jacket silhouette: the Stone Island Micro Felt Transparent Cover Jacket. Designed by Paul Harvey during his time at the brand, the green zip-up is defined by its crumpled, paper-like appearance, a byproduct of its extremely lightweight microfelt nylon body, fully laminated with a transparent polyurethane film.

The next day, the rapper graced The Grid stage at Leeds for another high-octane set, in another aptly high-octane Stone Island look. This go-around, Skepta opted for a vibrant, bright orange hooded jacket from the brand, complete with flaps on the ears and patches on the sleeves.

On Sunday, he closed out the weekend a little further west, heading over to Laois, Ireland to wrap the Electric Picnic festival in a sleek Stone Island hooded rain jacket.

Fast forward just a few days after Big Smoke’s commendable three-day, hometown run of shows, Stone Island lifted the veil on the latest installment of its “Community as a Form of Research” portrait series, starring none other than fakemink, Stephen Graham, and, you guessed it, Skepta himself.
