The drop celebrates Beyoncé’s 45th birthday and the 20th anniversary of her album B’Day, but fans online are calling highway robbery over its $948.01 USD price tag for an item containing no actual music.
Priced at $948.01 USD as a thematic reference to her birthdate on September 4, 1981, the handcrafted solid-pine crate is treated with beeswax oil and lined with deep green velvet. Inspired by traditional beekeeper crates, the storage unit includes custom-engraved details, gold hardware, and a faux gator-skin leather strap.
With only 500 individually numbered units available, additional shipping and taxes can push the final total over $1,100 USD. Despite the luxury price point, the box serves strictly as a storage container and includes zero vinyl records, prompting widespread reactions across social media as fans critique the high cost for an empty wooden box.
