Italian eyewear house Persol has joined forces with iconic typewriter manufacturer Olivetti to release the limited-edition PO3416V optical frame. Celebrating a shared heritage of Italian industrial design and tactile precision, the collaboration reimagines a classic oval silhouette through subtle, mechanical design cues. Crafted from premium handmade cotton acetate, the optical frame features a metal nose bridge detailed with intricate radial engravings that mirror the internal mechanics of Marcello Nizzoli’s historic 1950 Lettera 22 typewriter. Persol’s signature Meflecto flexible stem system and iconic Arrow hinge are subtly customized, incorporating Olivetti’s “O” insignia alongside metallic accents reminiscent of typewriter keys.

The PO3416V model is offered in timeless Black, classic Havana and a special Brown Gradient (1259) colorway. Intricate brand details continue along the inner temple, which is stamped with the original Lettera 22 logo, while the temple tips feature a protective rubber sheath finished with a striking red accent inspired by the typewriter’s ribbon. Complete with custom collector’s packaging, the Persol x Olivetti PO3416V limited-edition eyeglasses are available now through Persol flagship boutiques and online, priced at $562 USD.
