VISION celebrates 50 years of shaping skate, streetwear, and urban art with its traveling exhibition.
The “50 Years of VISION” exhibition started its first leg of a global tour in Los Angeles, California at the independent HVW8 Gallery, which saw a complete takeover of VISION’s highly curated collection of brand memorabilia. Historic skate decks, prints, flyers, accessories and even original concepts and sketches filled the space, allowing guests to explore the expansive history of the brand dating as far back as 1976. Alongside cultural elements, the gallery housed original artwork rarely seen by the public, including rough draft art by Mark Gonzales, one of VISION’s first pro skaters.
VISION threw an opening reception on September 4, which saw a large gathering of OG skaters and LA skate community members. The party also saw the return of the brand’s designs with new stickers, posters and apparel given to the invited guests in attendance.
