This year, McDonald’s has been making its mark on the fashion scene. After serving up its McDonald’s Wraps to crowds at London Fashion Week in February, the restaurant returns for the new season showcases, this time with a new must-have accessory.
The McHappy Day® Beanie was first spotted on actor Jenny Walser as she arrived at the Mithridate Show earlier this week. A fully reversible knit hat with McDonald’s signature tones, Walser wore the accessory on the yellow side to bring a touch of color blocking to her fit. Outside 180 The Strand, DJ and model Jordan Mainoo-Hames showcased the hat’s versatility by pairing it with his usual sporty stylings on his way to Fashion Week events.
From the streets of London to McDonald’s locations across the UK, the wider public can now add the limited-edition accessory to their winter wardrobes by buying it at kiosks in their local McDonald’s restaurant. With every purchase, customers will support the charity’s work helping families with children in hospital by providing free accommodation near their ward.
The launch celebrates the restaurant’s new national fundraising day, McHappy Day®, with all proceeds from the beanie going to Ronald McDonald House UK. The 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK support families to alleviate the practical and financial pressures that come with hospital stays.
Ahead of the drop, find out how fashion week attendees wore the hat – including presenter Charli Fisher, host Kyle De’Volle and DJ Phoenix Brown – by checking out McDonald’s new paparazzi-style campaign in the gallery above.
The McHappy Day® Beanie is available in participating McDonald’s restaurants or via the McDonald’s App while stocks last, for £5 GBP (approx. $7 USD).
